The parents also appoint godparents/guardians at these ceremonies. A beautiful inscribed ‘Naming Certificate’ is presented to the parents at the end of the ceremony, so too Commemorative Certificates can be presented to the godparents, grandparents or other family members who assisted on the day. Two computerized calligraphy Commemorative Certificates are included, there is a small fee of $5 for each additional Certificate.
Considerations in preparing the ceremony are given to candle lighting, zodiac signs or name meanings. This joyous event usually involves many relatives and friends, some of whom are invited to share in readings, poems, candle ceremonies, planting of a tree or other rituals etc; this special day is an opportunity to declare to all, your promise to be as good a parent as you can be, you make a public acknowledgement to educate your child, together with the godparents to pledge their moral support and dedication to their relationship with your child. This day is a means of presenting this tiny child into the community and offering support of your child’s future development.
